T10: An important story in the news

 I don't watch the news too much for the simple reason that it's always the same. Instead, I keep myself informed by using social media like Twitter and reading online journals where I can choose what I read and what not.

However, there is news that shocks you and gets inside your mind. For me, it's always about science. The last time I watched the news there was a report that said that it was possible to cure illnesses such as cancer by taking human cells that weren't infected by cancer and putting them into cancer patients through their blood. They didn't say much about it because there is very little information about it still but they said that research was going well and that in less than five years it will be used in more than 50% of cancer patients.

When news is used to actually inform people and not to create a stir among the population is when I feel like it is worth watching them.

T17: A good friend

  As someone who has had friends her whole life, I recognise the importance of having someone to count on. There are many types of friends but the hardest one to find is without any doubt, a good friend. As I have already said, there are many types of friends. For instance, there are those that you only salute when you see each other at a party, friends from your childhood whom you do not talk to as often as you would like to but whenever you see them it seems like not a single day has gone by since you last saw them, and then there are good friends. A good friend is someone who is always there, through thick and thin. They always have the best intentions and even though you may not talk to each other every day, it is not necessary because you know that your bond can't ever be broken. I am lucky enough to say that I have many good friends that make my days worthwhile and I am proud of that because what kind of friends you have also says something about yourself.
